Arning Beach Vacation - Day 2!

We're on day two of our beach vacation in Hilton Head and all is well. Grandpa and Grandma joined us yesterday, so today was their first full day of craziness with the Arning boys. I think they're exhausted and have already hit the hay for the night. I don't blame them. It's exhausting keeping up with these two monkeys!

Seriously though, we had a great day again today. More of the same. Sand, surf, pool and bicycle rides. What's not to love?

Here are more pictures of our own little paradise.

Headed to the beach! With as much stuff as we have to carry, the boys are being put to work!

Following big brother...

Carrying sand and water is hard work!

"I'm supposed to do what with this shovel?"

Grandma's having fun playing in the ocean, too!

Grandpa doing what Grandpas do best - "just resting his eyes!"

I love this picture. Isn't it cute?

Catching some waves!

See! Mama's on vacation, too!

Wondering where Charlie is? Shoveling sand into his dump truck.
That's what he does the entire time he's at the beach.

Getting thrown in the air... day two!

"Umm... I'm not sure I trust you to catch me, Grandpa."

"Here goes nothing!"

Sheer joy!

I love this photo... "NoChase, native creature of Hilton Head, stalking his prey."

NoChase meets his match! It's a battle to the death!

Don't you love the determination in his face?

Seriously. What's with the face?

Grandpa helps Charlie ride his boogie board.
Tomorrow is day three! I wonder what we'll do...

Arning Family Vacation... Day 1!

Well, after a week of sweating it out, wondering whether or not our vacation was going to be impacted, we made it to Hilton Head yesterday without a single trace of Hurricane Irene. Are we lucky or what? In fact, not only is there no trace of Irene, the sky is beautiful, the sun is shining and it is H O T!

We're already having such a great time on our vacation. We're enjoying our own pool, the boys are loving the sand and surf, and we're getting lots of exercise riding our bicycles everywhere.

Here are several pictures from our first day at Sea Pines in Hilton Head. More to come!

Chase loves it when Dada throws him in the air!

Charlie is an excellent swimmer!

Charlie loves to be thrown in the air, too!

Is he cute or what?

Charlie looks like he's posing for an ad for cologne.

You know me. I love pictures from behind.

This was the only time the boys played near each other. I had to be extra quick to snap this photo!

What a smile!

Love it!

Running from the waves!

The dump truck has been working hard on this trip.

I love this picture, too.
